Version 1.0, in effect from 25 October 2026
This is a draft awaiting legal review. It describes how Scholarix works today and may change before the public launch.
Who we are
Scholarix runs the Scholarix app and the website www.scholarix.online. In these terms, “we” means Scholarix and “you” means the person or organisation using the service. You can reach us at info@scholarix.online.
Your account
You need an account to use the app. Give accurate details and keep your password and sign-in methods to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
Who can use Scholarix
- Teachers must be 18 or over.
- Students aged 16 or over can create their own account.
- Students under 16 can join only with a class code from a school or teacher who holds the consent needed, or with a parent's or guardian's approval. Our Children's Privacy Notice explains how.
- A school that adds staff or students is responsible for having the right to do so.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload and create, such as documents, links, lessons, questions and messages. You allow us to store, process and show it only to run the service for you and the people you share it with, which includes sending it to the providers named in our sub-processor list. We don't use your content to train AI models.
Only upload material you have the right to use. If someone tells us that your content infringes their rights, we may remove it and will let you know.
AI-generated material
Scholarix uses AI to draft lessons, assessments, answers and other material. AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when it cites a source. Teachers should review material before giving it to students, and nobody should rely on it for medical, legal or safety decisions.
Students use the assistant and AI tutors under their teacher's or school's supervision. Tutors answer from the material their teacher provides and can still make mistakes.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Scholarix to harm, harass or bully anyone, or to create sexual, hateful or violent content.
- Don't try to get around safety checks, limits or access controls, or to reach other people's data.
- Don't upload malware, and don't test, scrape or overload the service without our written permission.
- Don't upload another person's voice for a voice profile without their consent.
- Don't share more personal information about students than teaching needs.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
Schools and organisations
When a school sets up an organisation in Scholarix, it decides who joins and with which role, and it is responsible for how its staff and students use the service. Where a school has a separate agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence over these terms.
Plans and payment
Some features need a paid plan. Prices and limits are on our pricing page. Stripe handles payments; we don't see or store your card details. A plan renews each period until you cancel it, and after you cancel it stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. If the law of your country gives you a right to a refund, these terms don't take it away.
The service
Scholarix is in active development. We work to keep it available and secure, but we can't promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change or remove features; if a change takes away something you pay for, we will tell you in advance.
Closing your account
You can stop using Scholarix at any time and ask us to close your account by writing to info@scholarix.online. We may close accounts that break these terms. When an account is closed, we delete its personal data as our Privacy Policy describes.
Liability
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to take reasonable care. We are not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for business losses, or for the use of AI-generated material that wasn't reviewed. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms in a way that matters, we update the version and date at the top of this page and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where Scholarix is established. This doesn't take away the protection that the law of your own country gives you.
